Privacy Policy

This policy explains what dougoh collects, why we collect it, who processes it, and the control you have over it.

1. Information you give us

Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address and, depending on how you sign in, an identifier from Apple or Google. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us. Date of birth. Required at signup. We store the date itself and calculate your age from it. We never store a typed-in age. Profile information. Your display name, username, bio and profile photo, if you choose to add them. A profile photo is optional and can be removed at any time. Preferences. Your interests, who you usually go out with, your vibe filters, appearance setting and notification setting.

2. Information created by using dougoh

Saved activities. The ideas you save, favourite and skip, so your deck improves and your saves follow you between devices. Completed activities. What you marked complete, when, how long it took and the XP earned. Challenge activity. Challenges and Challenge Packs you have completed or skipped, your streak and your daily skip usage. App usage. Basic diagnostic information such as errors and crashes, used to fix problems.

3. Location

If you grant permission, we use your device location to find activities and places near you and to calculate distance and travel time. Location is used to fetch nearby results at the time you ask for them. We do not build a location history, and we do not sell or share your location. Location access is optional. Decline it and you can type in a city instead; dougoh works normally with a manually entered location. You can change or revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings.

4. Why we use your information

• To show you activities and challenges, and to make them more relevant over time. • To apply age restrictions. Your date of birth determines which activities you are eligible to receive. • To keep your saves, progress, streak and profile in sync across your devices. • To operate accounts, sign-in and dougoh+ membership. • To keep dougoh safe, prevent abuse and enforce our terms. • To fix bugs and improve the app. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

5. Where your data is processed

Supabase. Our backend. It hosts our database, handles authentication and stores profile photos. Your account, profile, saves, completions and challenge data are stored there. Access is protected by row-level security rules so your rows can only be read or written by your own authenticated account. Apple. Handles Sign in with Apple, App Store subscription billing, and Apple Maps, which supplies the real venues, addresses and map data shown in the app. Google. Handles Google sign-in, if you choose it. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.

6. Photos

Adding a profile photo is optional. We use the standard iOS photo picker and camera. The picker only hands us the single image you select, so dougoh does not receive access to the rest of your photo library. If you take a new photo instead, we ask for camera permission at that moment. Your profile photo is stored in our Supabase storage and is readable by its URL. Remove it at any time from Edit Profile, and it is deleted.

7. Data retention

We keep your information while your account exists, because it is what makes your saves, streak and progress work. If you use dougoh without an account, your data stays on your device only and is removed when you delete the app.

8. Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account inside the app: Profile, Settings, Legal and Safety, Delete Account. Deleting removes your profile, date of birth, username, bio, profile photo, saved and completed activities, challenge history, XP and streak from our systems, and signs you out everywhere. It cannot be undone. Some records may persist briefly in encrypted backups before being overwritten, and we may retain the minimum required by law.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, or object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app: edit your profile and preferences, or delete your account outright. For anything else, contact us at privacy@dougoh.app and we will respond within the time the law requires.

10. Children

dougoh is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If we learn that we have, we delete it. Users under 18 and under 21 have age-restricted content filtered out of the app, as described in our Terms.

11. Changes and contact
