Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and dougoh. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them.

1. What dougoh is

dougoh suggests activities, places and challenges for you to do, alone or with other people. You swipe through ideas, save the ones you like, and go do them. Everything dougoh shows you is a suggestion, not a recommendation to do anything unsafe, and not a promise about any business, venue or event. You decide what you actually do.

2. Who can use dougoh

You must be at least 13 years old to create a dougoh account. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up and use it to decide which activities you are eligible to see. You must give us an accurate date of birth. Giving a false one to reach age-restricted content is a breach of these terms and can result in your account being terminated.

3. Age-restricted content

Some activities are restricted by age and are filtered out of your recommendations, search results, challenges, map and every other part of the app: • If you are under 21, you will not be shown bars, clubs, nightlife or other alcohol-related activities. • If you are under 18, you will not be shown activities rated 18+. These filters are applied to the content you receive. They do not replace the law, and they do not authorise you to do anything you are not legally old enough to do where you live.

4. Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password private. Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it. You can create an account with an email address and password, with Apple, or with Google. You can also use large parts of dougoh without an account at all. You may delete your account permanently at any time from Profile, Settings, Delete Account.

5. Challenges

Challenges are prompts to do something in the real world. Some are social and involve approaching or interacting with other people. You are never required to complete a challenge. Skip anything that feels unsafe, unwelcome, illegal, or that you simply do not want to do. Never complete a challenge in a way that harasses, endangers, deceives or humiliates another person, and never involve someone who has not agreed to take part. Marking a challenge complete is self-reported. We do not verify it.

6. Location features

If you grant location permission, dougoh uses your location to find activities and places near you and to show distance and travel time. Granting location access is optional. If you decline, you can enter a city manually and dougoh keeps working with that location instead.

7. Third-party businesses and venues

dougoh shows real businesses, venues and places sourced from mapping services and our own catalogue. We do not own, operate, inspect or endorse them. Details such as opening hours, prices, ratings, addresses and availability come from third parties and may be out of date or wrong. Always check with the business directly before relying on them. Anything that happens between you and a business, including bookings, payments, refunds, service and safety, is between you and that business. dougoh is not a party to it.

8. dougoh+ subscriptions

dougoh+ is an optional paid subscription that unlocks unlimited swipes, unlimited challenge skips, choosing your own challenge categories and difficulty, and Challenge Packs. Subscriptions are sold through the App Store and billed to your Apple ID. They renew automatically at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours beforehand. Manage or cancel any time in your Apple ID subscription settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under their terms, not by dougoh. We may change the price or what is included, and we will tell you in advance if we do.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to: • Use dougoh to break the law or to encourage anyone else to. • Harass, threaten, endanger, impersonate or exploit anyone. • Ignore venue rules, trespass, or pressure others to do the same. • Misrepresent your age to reach restricted content. • Scrape, reverse-engineer, overload or interfere with the app or its backend. • Upload content you do not have the right to use, or that is sexual, hateful or violent. Our Community Guidelines form part of these terms and set this out in more detail.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms or the Community Guidelines, if your account is used to endanger or harm someone, or if we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why. You can stop using dougoh and delete your account at any time.

11. Safety disclaimer

You take part in activities and challenges at your own risk. dougoh does not vet venues, other people, weather, road conditions or anything else about the real world. Use your judgement, obey the law, follow venue rules, and stop if a situation feels unsafe. Take particular care with activities involving alcohol, water, heights, driving, remote locations or strangers. dougoh is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from activities you choose to do, from third-party businesses, or from information in the app being inaccurate.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use dougoh after a change means you accept the updated terms. Questions about these terms: support@dougoh.app
